Whilst we all learn from our mistakes, it’s even better to learn from other people’s! This is your opportunity to hear the experiences of young women who have started a career related to tech.
Sjoukje Ijlstra is a software engineer, a freelance Code First: Girls instructor and has won multiple awards, including Women in Software Power List Winner (2020). She has a degree in Maths.
Caitlin Clark is a senior consultant at Sopra Steria, specialising in the Public Sector, and led BCSWomen to be a finalist in the 2019 Scotland Women in Technology Awards. Caitlin’s degree is in Physiology and Sports Science.
Eilidh Smith is a solicitor at Brodies LLP, with experience of representing and advising clients in a wide range of commercial disputes, including those in tech. As ethics in technology becomes more and more important, Eilidh brings a new way of thinking.
Sjoukje, Caitlin and Eilidh will spend a few minutes talking about what they’d tell their teenage selves – if they had the opportunity to go back and meet them – and then you can ask them any question you like about why they choose to work in tech.
This session will be hosted by Sharon Moore MBE.
