Studied Computing, Maths, Physics, Chemistry & English at Higher Level. S5 Leaver onto the Technology Apprentice Programme at Barclays. Currently an Apprentice Developer on a Java Integration Team.

Laura Nixon

I left school and worked for a couple of years, then went to college to pursue a career in childcare; it wasn’t for me, so I dropped out after 6 months. I worked in lots of different jobs for around 5/6 years before applying to college to study computing. Now, I’m an Apprentice Developer in the Client Services Technology team in Barclays and working towards my degree in Software Engineering at University of Glasgow.

This session forms part of the Ada Scotland Festival launch event.
