Talk from Theresa McComisky, Distinguished Engineer at Barclays

Update: Here’s a recording of Theresa’s excellent talk, followed by a little Q&A!

Come along at 10:00 on Wednesday 14 October to hear from the inspirational Theresa McComisky, Head of Open Source Adoption and Distinguished Engineer at Barclays.

About Theresa

I graduated with an honours degree in Software Engineering from Glasgow University in 1998.

When I left University – all I wanted to do was code.  As my career developed and I gained more experience I started to realise the importance of sharing what I had learned (often the hard way) and found that I also benefited in return.

This has been a recurring theme throughout my career as I progressed into architecture roles, often with a data focus (understanding data is so important!).  In my current role I lead open source adoption within Barclays.

The shift to open source means there is a much greater awareness of what developers do, and the value of code; I think this means there has never been a better time to consider a career in development.
